Mini has been with us for over 50 years now. Each of their models was considered cute and lovely. Some of them were fast while others were amazing legends. However none of them can match the latest creation from Mini.

The aerodynamic body parts like the large front and rear aprons, striking side sills and model-specific roof spoiler not only add to the eye-catching appearance but also play an important part in controlling air flow.

The rear diffusor, together with the underside panelling and the roof-edge spoiler, reduce lift forces at the rear axle for spotless handling control.
GP stripes on the sides |
It’s also lighter than a standard mini with the overall weight measuring just 1,160 kilograms. The body is painted in Thunder Grey metallic, with red for the edging round the bonnet opening as well as for the exterior mirror caps and the side air intakes in the front apron.
Unique 17 inch rims |
Under the bonnet is an extensively modified four-cylinder turbo engine capable of developing 218hp. 0 to 100km/h takes 6.3 seconds and top speed is an impressive 242km/h. 7.1 litres is all it needs to cover 100 kilometers. Power is managed by an adjustable coil over suspension.
Rear spoiler |
The suspension set-up can be fine-tuned to different circuit conditions whenever the Mini GP goes out onto the track. The front shock absorbers are mounted upside down in the tube, with the piston rod pointing down, in order to increase longitudinal and lateral stiffness.

Its standard-fitted high-traction sports tyres offer awesome cornering grip, impeccable braking response and impressive performance.
Powerful xenon headlamps |
Braking power is handled by six-piston fixed-calliper disc brakes, vented at the front. They are visible behind the low-weight 17-inch alloy wheels.
large rear diffuser with twin exhausts |
Inside, it loses the rear bench seats while the driver and passenger sit on Recaro sports seats with special GP stitching. A cargo guard prevents items from sliding forward out of the luggage compartment in sporty driving situations.
Rear lights |
The thick-rimmed leather steering wheel and gearshift knob, with chrome ring and red shift diagram, give the car a refined look.
Luxurious driver focused cockpit |
Finally, features like the anthracite roof liner, the piano black interior surfaces and door grips help boost the classy feel inside. The anthracite rev counter and speedometer dials are strategically placed to improve the driver's concentration and focus on the road.
Sits 20 millimeters lower than a normal John Cooper Works Mini |
The standard specification includes xenon headlights in black shells, foglamps, sun protection glazing, air conditioning, DSC with special GP mode, and a Sport button. Prices for the Mini John Cooper Works GP will cost £28,790 (Kshs. 3.7 million excl. taxes) and only 2000 units will be made.
