After Peugeot teased the world with its stylish Urban Crossover Concept back in 2012, many were surprised at its impressive design.

They later followed up that concept with another new 2008 Concept that was based on the Urban Crossover Concept. Months later and Peugeot have finally released a production version based on the 2008 Concept.

The new compact SUV is heavily influenced by the two previous concept cars that were launched before it. At the front it has a stylish 'floating grille' face with vertical elements that were visible on the 2008 Concept. Uniquely designed front headlamps are designed to blend in to the front to give the 2008 a distinct and stylish face.

They also have a cat like look that reflects the character of the Peugeot lion of the stylish bonnet. The headlights look is further enhanced by daytime LED headlamps. At the side large 17" 'Diamond' wheels with a matt finish are visible. The 2008 has pronounced wheel arches that give it an appealing road presence and stance. The black bumpers and body sills serve to protect it from scratches. Addition front and rear body protection mouldings are also added. Side mouldings are finished in stainless steel.

Large windows and a panoramic roof ensure the interior feels spacious and open to its surroundings. The rear is dominated by dynamic curves inspired by the Peugeot RCZ. The rear tailgate is framed by lamps secured to the body. Inside the rear light housing is three luminous claws that feature LEDs. The roof also helps to bring out the 2008 sporty looks.

A roof wave line emerges above the rear seat position and sets the scene for an exclusive decoration cut into the metal. The rear spoiler is also made of an exclusive decorative material. Looking at it closely and it seems to be originating from the roof wave line.

Under the bonnet the new 2008 will be offered with a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.4litr and 1.6litre e-HDi diesel engines.  The engines are not only efficient but more eco-friendly. More details about the 2008 Urban Crossover will be released soon. Good work Peugeot.
