Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster

The current flagship Lamborghini model, the Aventador, is considered by many as the most beautiful car ever made. It epic new design, powerful engine and handling capabilities made the Aventador more amazing that the monumental Murciélago it replaced. Two years down the line and the Sant' Agata Bolognese based company have made the epic ranging coupe to be even more spectacular.

The new Lamborghini Aventador Roadster builds on the lovely characteristics of the coupe but at the same time it offers an open roof experience that is just amazing. Previous Lamborghini roadsters like the Murciélago LP 640-4 used a complicated roof that was not only hard to put in place but limited its top speed to 160km/h.

However with the new Aventador Roadster, Lamborghini engineers have incorporated a new carbon fibre two-piece roof. It is made of using RTM (Resin transfer molding) and Forged Composite technology to produce a rugged and light carbon fibre roof. The two parts are removable and are easy to handle.

With a total weight of less than 6kgs the roof is easy to carry as well. The removable roof is also easier to store at the front storage compartment. The two pieces rest on a redesigned rear pillar that offers total support for the removable roof, accommodate an automatic protection system for passengers, and provide the engine compartment with ample ventilation. The rear ventilation has also been redesigned. Compared it to the coupe design and one notices a new central spinal column with two pairs of hexagonal windows connected at the sides. The purpose of the design is to cool the engine, drain off rain water properly and, of course, allow the beauty of the V12 power unit to be admired.

Luxurious interior

Its two door windows have angled edges to ensure a perfect fit into the hard top seal of the roof. The driver and passenger can decide for themselves how intensely the want to enjoy their drive. This is thanks to a rear powered windshield which not only influences the flow of air in the vehicle, but also controls the sound from the ranging V12 orchestra.

A wind deflector is also available. It helps to keep the interior calm and free from wind turbulence even at high speed. It rests on the front windshield frame and can also be stored in the luggage compartment just like the roof.

Without the roof

The body is painted in a two-tone finish. The windshield pillar, the two roof sections and the rear window area up to the rear fins are painted in gloss black. The rest of the body is painted in a different colour. The car also comes with stylish new unique Dione 20 or 21 inch rims wheels. They have an aggressive look and just like the ones on the coupe, they are crafted in light forged aluminum. The new unique hooves also help to lower the total weight of the car by 10kgs. Since the interior will be visible much of the time, the new Roadster gets a Sabbia Nefertem leather treatment that helps highlight the hand-made crafted interior. 

Large rear design with the huge exhaust tips

The power figures remain unchanged. It has the impressive naturally aspirated 6.5 litre V12 raging heart that is found in the Coupe. Power output remains an impressive 700hp and it will accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3 seconds. Married to the engine is an ISR 7-speed gearbox that sends power to all the front wheels.

With the two-piece roof

Push-rod suspension ensures all tires remain stuck to the road even at its impressive top speed of 350km/h. The V12 heart comes with a cylinder deactivation system when the engine is working at a partial. This helps reduce overall fuel use when the engine is idle. The engine also incorporates an instant Stop & Start system includes high-performance capacitors known as supercaps to awaken the engine. 

Aggressive front face

To own this new impressive bull from Sant' Agata Bolognese one needs to foot a bill of €300,000. That’s Kshs 50 million including taxes. That’s a lot hence my previours Aventador poster will have to be moved for an impressive new Aventador LP700-4 Roadster Poster. I salute Lamborghini for producing an even more impressive super car.
