Mercedes SL 65 AMG 45th Anniversary

To celebrate 45 great years of automotive excellence Mercedes Benz’s high performance division has released a limited edition of their most powerful roadster the SL65 AMG. 

Unique rear exhaust pipes styling

To differentiate it from its sister, the SL65 AMG 45^th Anniversary comes finished in grey design magno graphite paint. The front AMG radiator grill has a twin blade design that is finished in polished chrome. The front daytime running lights located on the bumper are housed in chrome housing while similar chrome touches are visible on the bonnet fins and side gills. It also comes with a unique Exterior Carbon-Fibre package.

Titanium gray light allow AMG wheels

With the package the front air splitter, exterior mirrors and the rear spoiler lip are now made from carbon fibre with a satin finish.  At the back the AMG sports exhaust system provides an amazing soundtrack unique to this model. The outer surround of the twin tailpipe now feature a chrome black outer surround and a gloss chrome finish on the inner surround. The roadster rides on light-alloy 19 inch front and 20 inch rear AMG wheels. The multi-spoked wheels feature distinct titanium grey paint on the spokes while a high sheen rim surround completes the unique rim design. 

Carbon Fibre engine cover

Under the bonnet is the astonishing AMG 6.0-litre V12 "biturbo" (twin-turbocharged) engine found in the normal SL65 AMG. It’s however covered with an engine cover made of matt carbon fiber and aluminum. It has an output of 630hp and has 1000Nm of torque. 0 to 100 takes 3.8 seconds while 0 to 200km/h will take 7.8 seconds.  However top speed has been raised from 250km/h, in the SL65 AMG, to 300km/h. The engine is married to AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G‑TRONIC transmission system. 

Chrome door slits with illuminated AMG logo

The interior is composed of exquisite materials. Although it has the AMG-specific V12 layout with a diamond pattern that adorns both the electrically adjustable AMG sports seats and the door center panels, they have been exclusively styled for this model. The driver sits on seats covered in titanium grey pearl/ginger beige leather. The seats are electronically adjustable and feature the AMG logo. The door slits are finished in chrome and have an illuminated AMG logo.

Carbon fibre elements adorn the interior

The AMG Performance steering wheel with an AMG logo on the bottom bezel has a two-tone rim that consists of titanium grey/ginger beige leather. The AMG interior trim elements are finished in matt carbon fibre to match the matt finish of the Exterior Carbon-Fibre package. A badge on the ashtray cover bearing the logo '45th ANNIVERSARY – 1 OF 45' refers to the 45th birthday of the AMG high-performance division and it also helps to hints to the exclusiveness of the SL 65 AMG 45^TH anniversary. 

Posh interior unique to the special edition model

SL 65 AMG 45^THanniversary also comes fitted with AIRSCARF, Active Parking Assist, Active Multicontour Seat Package, AMG ceramic high-performance compound brake system, COMMAND Online with 6 DVD Changer, Intelligent Light System (ILS)Driving Assistance package with DISTRONIC PLUS, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist and PRE SAFE.
